Master Gardener Program
The Lake Cumberland Master Gardener Program began in 2000. We offer training each year in the fall. The goal is to have at least 8 participants each time.
If you'd like to become an Extension Master Gardener, the program will be offered in the Fall 2024. Click on the graphic to the right to get on an email list. Applications for the Fall 2024 program can be downloaded here.

There is a fee for the program. Financial help is available. Speak with Beth Wilson if you need assistance with the fee.
Master Gardeners are trained over the course of 8 to 13 weeks. Forty (40) hours of volunteer service are required within 12 months of end of the training.
Master Gardeners are involved in activities such as:
- Mill Springs Battlefield renovations
- Native plant sales
- Set up booths at county events
- Teaching home garden programs
- Demonstration gardens
- Pine straw sales
- and more!
