Master Gardener Program
The Lake Cumberland Master Gardener Program began in 2000. We offer training each year in the fall. The goal is to have at least 8 participants each time.
If you'd like to become an Extension Master Gardener, the program will start in early September 2025. Click on the graphic to the right to get on an email list.
Please register for the program here.
There is a fee for the program. Financial help is available. Speak with Beth Wilson if you need assistance with the fee.
Master Gardeners are trained over the course of 7 to 13 weeks. Forty (40) hours of volunteer service are required within 12 months of end of the training.
Master Gardeners are involved in activities such as:
- Mill Springs Battlefield renovations
- Native & Heirloom Plant Fest
- Set up booths at county events
- Teaching home garden programs
- Demonstration gardens
- Pine straw sales
- Tree Week
- and more!
