The Lake Cumberland Master Gardener Program began in 2000. We offer training each year in the fall. The goal is to have at least 8 participants each time.

There is a fee for the program. Financial help is available. Speak with Beth Wilson if you need assistance with the fee.

Master Gardeners are trained over the course of 7 to 13 weeks. Forty (40) hours of volunteer service are required within 12 months of end of the training.

Master Gardeners are involved in activities such as:

• Mill Springs Battlefield renovations
• Native & Heirloom Plant Fest
• Set up booths at county events
• Teaching home garden programs
• Demonstration gardens
• Pine straw sales
• Tree Week
• and more!
