Master Gardener Program
The Lake Cumberland Master Gardener Program began in 2000. We just completed the program in Fall 2023 with 9 new Extension Master Gardener volunteers!
If you'd like to become an Extension Master Gardener, the program will be offered in the Fall 2024. Click on the graphic to the right to get on an email list. You'll be the first to learn if the program is taking applications!
Master Gardeners are trained over the course of 8 to 13 weeks. Forty (40) hours of volunteer service are required within 12 months of end of the training.
Master Gardeners are involved in activities such as:
- Mill Springs Battlefield renovations
- Native plant sales
- Set up booths at county events
- Teaching home garden programs
- Demonstration gardens
- Pine straw sales
- and more!
